THANKSGIVING DO's and DON'Ts

Turkey time is upon us!  It is time for feasting, family, and friends.  As we enter this time, it is a good idea to remember our furry friends and their special needs.

DON'T SHARE FOOD WITH YOUR PETS.

1.  Toxic foods - grapes, raisins, onions, garlic, chocolate
2.  Rich foods (bacon, fatty meats) can cause pancreatitis (inflammation in the pancreas that can cause vomiting, diarrhea and severe dehydration)
3.  Bones - can cause irritation to the GI tract  leading to vomiting or diarrhea.   If small enough they could cause a pet to choke if they become stuck in the esophagus.
4.  Pre-baked yeast bread dough - this can cause severe gas in the intestines leading to bloating and drunken incoordination.

Instead of people food or treats, give your pet extra love and attention. 💗 They will cherish that more than a treat.  Also allow those more shy pets a place to hide safely when company is over.
