PET OF THE MONTH - MARCH 2020 - Charm & Charlie

The story began in Waverly, Iowa in 2010.  My husband James and I had owned our dog Sundance who was a Cocker Spaniel since we got together in 1999 but he had long passed.  Our girls Amity and Bryndle were little and I thought how great it would be for them to have a little Spaniel, either a Cavalier or even a mix.  As luck would have it, Charlie was 6 months old and his owner listed him for rehoming.  She traveled as a nurse and said that he spent his days locked in hotel bathrooms waiting for her to return.  I loved him from the moment I first saw his picture.  Shortly after, someone who knew I had been looking for a Spaniel told me of Charm and her sister.  It was Christmas time and I drove over to see them because who can resist seeing and holding a puppy.  I came home empty-handed except for a picture I had taken of her.  The following day I went back and got her.  They have remained very devoted to each other all the days of their lives.  They have even tolerated adding kittens into the household two separate times.  They love to snuggle with the entire family.  They have always been welcoming to visits from grandma or my daughter's boyfriend.  Charm and Charlie have the same likes; snuggling, sleeping, watching tv, listening to music, going for car rides, sneaking food.  The only key differences between them are that Charlie likes going outside for walks and Charm doesn't.  Also, Charlie is very vocal and barks around strange people and animals.  Charm on the other hand does not bark, never at people or animals, and not even to come in from her potty breaks.  Our entire family loves them to pieces and they are not animals to us.
