Pet of the Month - May 2015 - Wink

Hi, my name is Wink, some people call me Winky and other names that I don’t understand.  I am a black and white tuxedo cat born on Oct. 18th 2014, but I am no ordinary cat.  You see I only have one eye.  They tell me that I had an eye infection and had to have it removed, but I don’t remember that, it happened long before I came to live at my “forever” home.

My humans adopted me from the Waverly Pet Rescue and now I am happy to have a nice big house to run and play in.  I do have to share my house with, of all things, a dog.  Jack isn’t too bad though.  It’s really weird, he only has one eye also, they call us a matched set, but I don’t see it.  We like to play tag and I like to bat at his tail sometimes.  At night he sleeps under the covers with my humans and I like to sneak up and pounce on him.  He thinks he rules the house, but I know better.

I like to pass the time playing with all my cat toys, my favorite is a long stick with some glittery things on it.  I like to carry it all around the house.  It had feathers but I pulled all them out.  I also like to chase a little red dot that dances just out of my reach.  Someday I will catch it.  There are some days I just like to be lazy and just lay in the window and watch the birds outside.  Jack joins me in the window sometimes but he is more interested in watching the squirrels.

I have found many hiding places in my new home and sometimes I hide so well that mother human gets freaked out and thinks that I got stuck in a closet or something.  She starts calling my name and I get scared and start to cry, but she always finds me and gives me a big hug and that just gets my motor running.  Papa human likes to take me for a ride to the dr.  Dr. Smith is funny, he makes me hop around on one paw and looks in my ears; that tickles.  All his helpers like to fawn all over me.  They must really like me there.

I am one lucky kitty, I think I will stick around for a while.  I love my new humans, and, yes even Jack.
