Pet of the Month - June 2014

We adopted Rennie Lake Jackson from the Cedar Bend Humane Society on June 15, 2012. We took one look at him and instantly knew he was coming home with us. It had been 2 years since we lost our sweet friend Kirby. He had been the love of our lives for 15 years. We were finally ready for an addition to the family. Rennie Lake has come so far since we first met him. At first he was a little shy and timid. As time went on he became more comfortable around strangers. On his first visit to the vet he hid behind me and barked. He now walks in with confidence greeting all of his new friends. Our Rennie is such a kind and loving boy. He keeps us active by going on walks in the evening and playing in the yard. He also has a favorite game of “hide the treat.” Karen Anderson from Finishing School for Dogs taught us how to play this game and Rennie has been hooked ever since. He gets so excited he starts running all over the house not knowing where to start. Rennie enjoys car rides on the weekends and getting lots of love. When we first got Rennie from the shelter I didn’t know who was luckier, him or us. Now I know it is us. We really love this little guy.
