Pet of the Month - February 2019 - MANGO!

TAYLOR'S PET OF THE MONTH - MANGO

Mango, is the cat who adopted me.  Mango was part of a litter up for adoption at another vet’s office, but her feral streak made the vet think she wouldn’t find a home.  Mango had to be tricked by the vet so she could catch her, but she responded to me within minutes of me holding her.  After coming in every Saturday for a month to socialize her, I decided she was meant to come home with me.  Unfortunately for Mango, she didn’t realize she would have to deal with other cats in the process.  Mango loves her one on one time with her mom, but only adored her older brother Buddha who we lost in 2015.
Mango is a loner, she stays to herself, but loves to have her mom (me) sit with her while she eats.  Unless she is in a bad mood (upset with the other cats), she is always purring when she sees me coming.  She doesn’t like to be held, but loves to be petted.  When friends take care of my fur babies, she will head butt them one minute and hiss at them the next.  This is typical Mango.
The doorbell, the phone ringing, someone knocking at the door, or any loud noise sends Mango scurrying under my bed (the very center of my bed, lol).  They say tortoiseshell cats have “tor-titude.”  If that is the case, then calico’s, at least this one, definitely has “cat-titude,” but I love her anyway.  She is the old lady of my furry family now at 14.
